Why
Chapter-only Membership?
When you
join Fort Worth Audubon as a chapter-only member,
you have the satisfaction of knowing that you are
directly contributing to our success. National Audubon
Society (NAS) has phased out their dues sharing program
in which FWAS used to receive a share of the dues
that you paid for National membership. If you renew
your NAS membership, you are automatically “assigned”
to FWAS. We get no share of the dues
to support your local participation, but we are pleased
to have you. But, by becoming a chapter-only member,
you become a member of FWAS, not NAS. We keep 100%
of your donation. Your support allows us to be financially
self sufficient, while sharing the same conservation
and education objectives as NAS.
100%
of your donation supports the variety of work we do.
Some areas are:
Conservation,
and Citizen Science projects - restoring the
habitat at the Old State Fish Hatchery, Project
Prairie Birds, 2 bird counts annually.
Education
- guest speakers at monthly meetings, room rental,
Audubon Adventures in the classroom, Speaker’s Bureau,
Science Fair Sponsorship.
Communication
- operating and maintaining the website, monthly
on-line newsletter, bar graphs, printed newsletters,
new member packets, brochures.
