Greetings,
I celebrated my birthday much like every other 21 year old celebrates their birthday... birding. I had a moderately successful day birding both the Drying Beds and River Legacy. Highlights included the female Common Goldeneye that, I presume, has been present since November, a Blue-headed Vireo near the bridge to the Science Center (most likely the same one that was present here all last winter), and a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher at the road near the RL Playground.
Yesterday at RL I had two Eastern Towhees (male and female) near the Science Center bridge. A single male EATO was very reliable at this location last winter. The Hermit Thrush that has been present at the first RL parking lot for the last 3 years is present again this year (probably the same one). I had trouble finding it, but I was eventually successful.
Happy Holidays!
