Hi all,
I sat in my backyard for about 45 minutes this morning, hoping some raptors would fly over. Not much in that department other than a single Broad-winged Hawk. This was more than made up for by a fly-over American Pipit and, just a few minutes later, a flyby Red-breasted Nuthatch! That I got on the bird and was able to identify it was sheer luck as my yard is small and much of my view is blocked by adjacent houses. I'm not sure if the bird was truly migrating or in search of suitable habitat - there is virtually none in my neighborhood.
