There seem to be a couple unusual mid-summer lingerers... at least two Ruddies are hanging out in the drying beds; pond # 16. I watched one of them for a bit this AM & it looked to have a short little wing , maybe an old injury healed over, maybe molt ?
Twice in the last 8 or 9 days the Neo-trop has been on the Trinity just upstream from the Hulen St bridge where there is a small cascade-waterfall type rapids & rocks. Best access is from the road behind the post office on Hulen... gets you to the east bank of the river.
