Bear Creek Ranch is 5 miles south of Aledo, Texas in Parker County Texas. Meet at ranch entrance gate at 7AM
Please come and experience the joy of birding at Bear Creek Ranch which is a 2,100 acre working ranch, owned by the Dixon Water Foundation. It's diverse native habitat composed of stream side forests, prairie, and spring fed Bear Creek provides food, water and shelter for buntings, tanagers, grosbecks, and many others species this time of the year. Bear Creek Ranch is a demonstration and learning site for environmentally responsible land management. We will visit all the different habitats with the focus on Bear Creek and the wooded areas.
This will be a half day trip.
RSVP Required so I will know the type of transportation that will be needed to take us to the various birding sites. There will be walking on trails, uneven ground, and maybe the dry parts of the creek beds if weather permits.
Directions:
From intersection of I-20 and Hwy 377 (Benbrook)
Travel Southwest on Hwy 377 (thru Benbrook and Wheatland) 8.8 miles to KELLY ROAD,
Turn RIGHT on Kelly Rd, Travel North on Kelly Rd 1 mile,
Turn LEFT onto BEAR CREEK ROAD,
The Ranch Gate is on the LEFT, 2.5 miles from Kelly Road
Look for Fiona, the Pink Flamingo at the entrance gate.
Recommend - Long Pants, Boots, Water, Snacks, Cap/Hat
Restroom facilities are available at the Ranch.
