Susan Thrower and I were at the beds, got 47 species if my count was correct! Saw more Bonapart's (FOS for me) & Franklin's Gulls in beds 31, 32 & 33 than I ever have at the beds! There were more gulls swimming in beds 31 & 32 than there were ducks by far! Spotted over 100 Buffleheads between all of the ponds and over 200 Ruddies. We were treated to 3 singing Marsh Wrens, 2 of which gave us stellar views for quite a while!! While watching the wrens sing, I once again was amazed at what non-birders miss....As I drove into the beds I spotted my FOS Cedar Waxwings en masse - probably close to 200 - huggin the tree tops on the left all the way down the entrance road! Got 18 Yellow-rumps and 2 large flocks of Robins. Susan & I were treated to some intersting calls courtesy of one of the Robins! A juvenile N. Harrier was working the back western beds and thanks to Ed Wetzel we saw a dark morph western Red-tail! A lone Cooper's hawk was in a tree in bed 30. We were there as the front moved in - 2 flocks of Snow geese flying over the beds moved through about 30-45 minutes before the front did.

It was a good day at the beds, birds and the company (Susan & Ed) were excellent!:)
