Any have Rat problems

We have a brown rat in our backyard I am trying to get rid of. Anyone ever had rat problems with seed? My wife is now 100% convinced we should never ever feed birds again. I quickly vetoed that idea.Any tips?

We had a couple of rats take up residence in our backyard last year, and were pretty sure they even got into the attic a few times. Once I figured out where they liked to run thru the garden, rat traps in the area they frequented baited with peanut butter worked (the rat traps are just big versions of the usual mouse traps you always see). We caught 3 within a matter of about 2 weeks, haven't seen any more since.

Get out the traps ASAP because the breed like RATS.

These aren't fuzzy tail rats are they? You know the kind that climbs trees.:rolleyes:

The seed definitely attracts them. What I do to control them is not to put out more seed then can be eaten by the birds and squirrels during the day. Try not to leave any out at night.
