Greetings,

My parents and I ran out to Winscott-Plover and Goforth this evening.

On WP we had 7 Lark Buntings and a Merlin.

On Goforth we had 7 Mountain Bluebirds and 6 Sage Thrashers. Also had a Lark Sparrow - not exceptionally uncommon, but somewhat unexpected.

This all was after a trip to Lake Tawakoni this morning. Pretty good day!

I was out with another birder this afternoon and found 8-10 Mountain Bluebirds west of the marker for County RD 918/917 in Parker County. When we first saw them they were on the north side of the road back in the mesquite and along the fence. They flew over to the hackberry trees on the south side after a Merlin chased them. They returned then to the north side after about 10-15 minutes. We did not see the Sage Thrashers on Goforth Road.
