Surprise Visitor

Yesterday I was surprised to find a male Painted Bunting on my feeder and even more surprised that he spent the entire day in and around my yard. I had seen only one male before and I was very happy and excited to have this one visit my yard.

I took many shots at extreme range ..... couldn't get close enough to really catch a good shot but I have a lot of "fair" shots to remember him.

I am about 15miles West of Corsicana on Hwy 22 ..... Navarro County. As I mentioned ... I have only seen one and it wasn't in this area.

I am new to birding and birds that may be common in your area are still exciting to me when I see a new one. Saw a Blue Grossbeak on the same day I saw the first Painted Bunting .... it was a good day!
