I have been hearing Upland Sandpipers overhead the past few mornings/nights and the neighborhood Mississippi Kites are starting to get that itch to fly south. Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and Western Kingbirds are starting to congregate in groups. In addition, I saw a few Yellow Warblers and the following shorebirds at the beds a few days ago; Stilt Sandpiper, Wilson's Phalarope, Pectoral Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, Least Sandpiper, Spotted Sandpiper and a few distant peeps not too visible with my binos.

The day that I spotted the poor Coot struggling with the plastic sack, I spotted 2 Yellow Warblers and there another bird calling that I couldn't get by call and as I followed it through the trees, couldn't quite get it. The willows should be good places to look for migrants in the next several weeks.
