We all get the doldrums in the heat of summer BUT if we start out early and end by noon with a refreshing beverage at Pappasitos, we can survive. Right?
It’s time for the 5th Annual FWAS Scavenger Hunt: July 18th, 2009
Meet at 5:45 a.m. in the Parking Lot of Pappasitos Restaurant in Fort Worth Exit Forest Park off of I-30 in Fort Worth, Take access road on north side of I-30 into Parking Lot.
All skill levels welcome! Form your own team or we will hook you up!
$5/person to participate goes to winning teams for lunch
End of Hunt is 12 noon Meet at Pappasitos for lunch.

The hunt area is restricted to Tarrant County . Teams decide their own birding locations.
Scoring: Scoring is based on the abundance of the species as stated in "A Bar Graph Checklist of the Birds of Tarrant County Texas, 2nd Edition, January 2000".
Common Species – 1 point
Fairly Common Species – 2 points
Uncommon Species– 3 points
Rare Species – 4 points
Occasional Species – 5 points
Write ins/Species Not on the List For July – 6 points
5 Points will be deducted for every must find species that a team fails to find.
Additional 2 points will be awarded for the species unique to your team’s list.
Note: For a species to count on your list, at least 2 members of team must see or hear the bird and agree on the identification.
